10/10/2018 dpir category: information

SGH Warsaw School of Economics received financing under the PROM Programme – International Scholarship Exchange of PhD Candidates and Academic Staff, run by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. SGH will receive funding up to PLN 659,910.16.

The aim of the PROM programme is to improve competences and qualifications of doctoral students and academic staff, both from Poland and abroad, including those outside of the EU, by means of international scholarship exchange (Polish students and lecturers going abroad, as well as foreign PhD students and staff coming to Poland).

The Programme’s funds will cover the costs related to participation of PhD candidates and academic staff (the participants should be under 40 years of age) in short forms of education (lasting from 5 to 30 days) of international character. The project strives for increasing the availability of international educational programmes and raising the mobility of PhD candidates and academic staff alike.

The programme is primarily aimed at PhD candidates – who need to constitute at least 80% of the project’s participants – and representatives of academic staff, although their number cannot exceed 20% of the project’s participants. Short forms of education include class teaching, and participation in conferences, summer/winter schools, courses, workshops, internships, as well as study visits. Other activities eligible for the scholarship are, for instance, obtaining materials for didactic or research purposes, learning how to use unique research equipment or improving one’s skills in preparing of international grant applications.

The Programme is carried out under International Scholarship Exchange of PhD Candidates and Academic Staff Project within Operational Programme – Knowledge Education Development, co-funded by European Social Fund. The head of the project is Prof. Alina Szypulewska-Porczyńska, PhD, and the members of the project team are Magdalena Suska, PhD and Patryk Dziurski, PhD.

More information can be found on the Programme's web page.
